Molyoló

Hello, I am Juli!
With Molyolo, we are building a community where textiles are not just materials, but experiences, connections, stories. Our goal is to make this creative space inspiring, inclusive and vibrant – for those who knit, crochet, sew, weave or are just getting to know this world.
About me...
I was surrounded by machines and textiles since I was a child. The oil-smelling corner of my grandmother's tailoring workshop, the excitement of the first patent, and summers spent in weaving camps shaped me. As a child, I dreamed of one day becoming a tapestry artist, like Zsuzsa Péreli, in whose workshop I stood in awe in front of the huge weaving frame and hand-painted yarns. Then, on my parents' advice, I went in a different direction - I became a "regular profession". But the world of yarn and textiles never let me go. I knitted, crocheted, browsed fashion magazines and tried to decipher if I stumbled upon a more exciting pattern.
The turning point came when I bought my first knitting machine. I was captivated by the endless possibilities they offer - I bought machines one after another. They often came to me in a dilapidated condition, so I learned to repair them, to give them a new life. This is also a creation, a game for me - just like dreaming up a new texture or pattern.
I feel like machine knitting is still a stepchild compared to weaving or sewing - I want to change that. My goal is for more and more people to learn about this technique and proudly wear pieces made from their own ideas.
Creation is a basic human need - whether it's a beautiful garden, a delicious meal, or any other creative activity. I want to create opportunities for those who find this experience in textiles.
I joined the Molyoló team last year, after moving back home from Belgium. Our first conversation with Detti took place on Zoom - for more than two hours. Since then, we have learned to speak up for ourselves if we get too carried away, but I hope that the common goal and enthusiasm will never fade from our relationship.
